“Listened to the episode about The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa. Literally sat through more than 30 minutes of babble about these women's personal lives, other books they've read and movies they've watched before even mentioning the book in question. When they finally got around to it, the comments made me wonder if they even read it. "I have no idea what I just read," and so on. Well, then what makes you qualified to do a podcast about it? One woman remarked that the book reminded some of George Orwell's 1984 and the other woman replied, "Well, I've never read that, so I wouldn't know."
