Matt’s chats are spot on. Everything from the relaxed and informed nature of the topics to the lovely guitar riff jingle makes this a heartwarming and inspirational listen.

Came here with no expectations just to listen the Mikey February conversation. Turned out I listened almost everything and I have been listen at least one a day. Matthew makes every conversation a super interesting story with his brilliant questions. I am kind of a surf, skate, snowboard nerd and...Read full review »

Not only does Matt Barr get hold of some of the most interesting voices in board sports - he also manages to turn every interview into deeply human, connected conversations. Old school and big hearted, every episode offers a fresh perspective. Recommended listening for everyone, even armchair...Read full review »

Matt has introduced me to some people I would never have thought of has being interesting as i am more surfing oriented but his style and obvious knowledge of each sport just draws you in. Add to that the Type 2 shows and i always look forward to seeing a new edition land

Avid mtber and past snowboarder that hasn’t kept up with the “scene”. Found this podcast by accident but love it. Unrushed stories and tales from a heap of athletes and adventurers I’d never heard of, as well as a few of my teenage idols. Next road trip your on, go back to the start and simply...Read full review »

Not sure about the long (occasionally 2 hour long), rambling, hyper indulgent intros, often supported by a “guest”. However, if you can persevere through these, the last 5-10 minutes of each episode usually absolutely bang. Once you hear, “thank f*** they’re gone”, you know things are about to...Read full review »

This podcast is simply great. You get drawn in by the big hitters but you stay for the interesting stories that every guest has to tell. Who knew that action sports would be such an interesting lens through which to consider everything going on in the world today? I can’t recommend it enough.

Great podcast - freewheeling conversations - varied guest list - what's not to like?! As a 'looking forwards' skier/biker rather than a snowboarder/surfer/skater there still so much good stuff here - from the GOAT Terje to round-Britain swimming Ross Edgeley via Bas Keep and more, and...Read full review »

Just listened to the Dan Milner interview. I want to re-live my life now. At age 52, is it to late to turn things around and follow my dreams. If Dan needs an ageing apprentice or even just an assistant, please consider me. 😂

Looking sideways is an awesome podcast! Big up for great work. However there’s room for improvements > please work on diversity of Type 2. Out of 13 interviews so far online, 1 was done with a woman. It’s a shame …

Looking Sideways offers an unabashedly thoughtful take on our the act of getting radical (no matter what your board looks like.)
