Very Useful
I first heard of this when Merlin Mann tooted about his second appearance on the show. That was a fantastic episode, so I went back to the beginning and geeked out. Don't be fooled in thinking that it's a show for power users. I thought that at first, but it's not just that; it's also a show for normal users to learn how to become power users. Since listening to these shows, I've got licenses for Hazel, Text Expander,LaunchBar and OmniFocus, apps which have all change the way I run my life. It has also changed me from a 60/40 Windows/Mac user into a 10/90. The workflow episodes have been my favourite ones, but they're pretty much all useful. The Automator show is an eye opener for sure. The one slightly annoying thing is Katy's misuse of the personal pronoun I in the accusative case, but that's just me. I'm a translator and proofreader so these things bug me more than most. She'll say such things as 'send an email to David and I'. Sorry Katy, but you're an edumacated lady! Of course that's not relevant to the content of the show, and that's what this review is supposed to be about. Suffice it to say that the content is very, very good indeed. I still haven't drunk the One Password Kool Aid, as LastPass offers a similar service free of charge and it gets the Steve Gibson seal of approval. Nice to see the show being picked up by 5by5. I hope it brings the show to a wider audience as that's what it deserves. Thanks for the great content David and Katy!Read full review »

Discovered the podcast through the 5by5 network. Had heard of it on occasion but had never taken the time to listen to it. Since the move to 5by5, it’s been a valuable resource, to me. The “back catalogue” is full of useful stuff. Listened to both Merlin Mann episodes (23 and 46; looking forward...Read full review »
