Description
Diagnosed with T1 Diabetes at age 11, Suzanne has lived experience of the challenges of managing chronic health through diet. As a young competitive athlete, she developed a deep awareness of the impact of food on performance and body image. Unfortunately, she was also diagnosed with end-stage renal disease in her early 30’s and it was only after spending 3 years on dialysis, and receiving a double organ transplant, that she started to question the nutrition guidance she had been given. This led her to study a Master’s (Honours) degree in Nutrition and Behaviour, followed by a research PhD, investigating the impact of the Ketogenic Diet in T1D, and particularly its impact on eating disorder outcomes.
