Such an important topic for our culture
Love the podcast and the topic discussion. Black men and mental is very important growing up. In the first episode you hit it on the head when it comes to men fearing the judgment of friends and family as well as the assumption of what they may say and what they may think of you after venting. You may act like you don’t care but deep down you do and masking those emotions is very unhealthy. It leads to so many negative things like self harm, poor behavior in school or work, and people always ask why are you acting this way instead of how do you feel, what are you going through, how can I help etc. I myself have gone through things that put me in that dark place and I couldn’t coach myself through it and realized that there was time to get help. Once I took time to go to therapy and identify all those childhood traumas, it made me become a better me and have control of my emotions and not give that control to others. Be honest with your friends and family and try your best not to judge and always check on your friends and family, a simple are you doing ok, how are you feeling can go a long way. Keep the podcast coming, definitely love what I am hearing. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Sincerely, A black king! 👑

Ken I absolutely love this podcast! We definitely need to normalize talking about mental health in the black community especially!

Toxic masculinity is a vicious cycle. Good for you for bringing this up and talking about how “ManUP” contributes to MH.
