Great premise, lackluster delivery
I feel Mermaids of Merrow’s Cove is unfortunately another example of a great premise that doesn’t pan out; I like the ideas and motifs behind this, but the voice acting and script is a little lacking for me. During important scenes I had some trouble understanding who was talking because, aside from the Irish character, everyone else has very nondescript voices and deliveries. It also suffers from very weird pacing; it’s only 6 episodes so they basically kick everything into high gear immediately in episode 3 and it feels very jarring. I still completed it (mostly because it’s only 3 hours all things considered), so I’d say to give it a try to see if this tickles your fancy. Also on a side note, every time a character pronounces “merrow” as “murroh” I die a little inside.
