Delightful, fast-paced, innovative—a treat for fans of improv, sci-fi, westerns, musicals, worldbuilding, and more. Every detail matters—the naming systems are hilariously apt, side characters keep coming back—and yet the narrative style itself feels like a three person bicycle careening along a...Read full review »

Think of the most moving and rich sci-fi/ fantasy movie you have seen. The detail on screen and gripping storyline beyond your imagination! All of that without a single picture, all in sound rippling through your mind. That’s this podcast. Can’t thank the creators enough for what they do!

I love this show so much. The characters, the world, the total originality of the storytelling. It’s all amazing!

Great show. 100% would recommend. My only complaint is there’s only 3 seasons.

I listened to season 1 on a road trip. I was hooked by the end of episode 1. These three brilliant narrators weave an amazing mind picture leaving you hanging for more! The accompanying sound track and foley matches the narration perfectly. Do not want this story to end!

Splendidly alarming storytelling and top-shelf worldbuilding delivered in a dizzying style. The back and forth between the narrators is a delight.

I love this. It’s a weird space western- reminds me a little of Borderlands, or a Fallout game- but it’s very much it’s own thing. The lore/universe is very cool, the concept of The Trust is especially neat. The main characters are all very interesting and fun, but there are many others that are...Read full review »

Original, Quirky, Engaging and Fun. Also beautifully crafted. The two narrators are outstanding: Their voice work is brilliant, and their timing is flawless. It’s a real treat for the ears. I truly love this podcast.

Part audiobook, part old-timey radio play, Midst is like nothing else I’ve experienced. The three performers/creators do an astounding job: I could listen to them play these characters forever. Midst has inspired me to seek out more “weird fiction”, and I can’t wait to see how they finish up this...Read full review »

If you like the unusual, the atmospheric, the surprising and the excellent this is the show for you. I’m both devastated that there are only three seasons but hopeful this world has more to offer in the future.

It’s hard to describe this show and do it justice. Sometimes you get examples of a medium (whether podcasts, films, musicals, etc) that exemplify everything that makes THAT medium great. Everything it can do that others can’t. And sometimes you get something that transcends the medium it’s apart...Read full review »

Really fun and unique! I became addicted fast. If you like unique sci-fi/fantasy with good narration and voice acting then this is worth your time.

Truly a mind-boggling story with absolutely stunning world building that breaks and creates so many rules of sci-fi (in the best way possible). Also love the tri-narrator experience!! I feel like I’m sitting around a campfire being spun a mysterious tale

I absolutely am in love with the narrative and world building of midst. I have never listen to such a unique and yet captivating story before this one. Plus i’m in love with the weird wicked nature of the fold and all the descriptions they poured into it.

I joined the hype train when I heard about it on Critical Role, and holy GOODNESS this is a good podcast. Make no mistake, this is the greatest improv media has ever seen. Listen. To. It. It’s a masterpiece in story, characters, and setting. All of threes things are complex, dynamic, and evolving...Read full review »

This is so good! If you’ve played DnD or any other role playing game you’ll love this story. It’s like 3 DMs masterfully world building an incredibly unique and fast paced story. Super blessed by the is production. Well executed storytelling that leaves me wanting more. Love the vivid descriptions of characters and events. An amendment from my earlier-posted review: just finished the most recent episode. OH. MY. GOSH. I was legitimately on the edge of my seat, wide-eyed, mouth agape, as that episode unfolded. Words cannot describe just how unbelievable INTENSE that episode was - I legit felt myself tear up after it...Read full review »

I use to take pride in being able to tell where a story is going. 20 mins into a movie and I can guess the ending. I have no idea where this story is going, and I can’t wait for the next surprise. Rich world building, character development and descriptions that only tease at a bigger story. ...Read full review »

What the heck. Super clever, super nerdy and compelling it actually distracts me and makes me for real el oh el. I cant say enough, its perfectly absurd, with loveable character development, and mystery. Please give me more? Please?

Midst starts slowly. And I found the narrative style a challenge at first. But I gave it a shot and I’m glad I did. The characters, story, and mystery are engaging. I look forward to the new episode every Wednesday.

I am not a podcast person. I have never been a podcast person. However, there are now two podcasts that I listen to /religiously/. Welcome To Night Vale, and now, Midst. Reviews can mean little as we, you and I, are strangers, but if you can take a stranger’s word for it, I promise everything I will type will be in utter honesty. I first heard about the podcast on critical role I merely shrugged it off as it didn’t sound like it would be my cup of tea, I listen...Read full review »

It took me several tries to get into Midst. Finally, I put my headphones and listened to the first six episodes in one sitting and now I can say that I am hooked. I have been listening to (and loving) Midst for years now. I have been patiently waiting for Season 3 to come out only to discover that they are rereleasing it on a different platform. It took a few introduction episodes to get going, but even those were enjoyable on their own. Once those were out of the way, things really became heated up. A very original audio drama so far removed from today’s real life drama. It’s very refreshing to find an audio drama this well made with NO political references or agenda woven into the story.
