“I purposefully waited until season one concluded so I would have a chance to listen to everything they had to offer before writing this review.
I had initially wanted to give this podcast one star like many of the other reviewers thus far after listening to “The Ripper”. The grim details regarding molestation and murder of children made me sick. I felt knots in my stomach and I didn’t understand why anybody would want to listen to something like this. Morbid curiosity, however, got the best of me and I continued through the rest of the season.
This podcast is unlike anything I've ever listened to. It will unapologetically disgust and frustrate you. Every morbid, sickening detail is left out in the open whether you wanted to hear it or not.
If you listen to the first episode and become offended, don’t condemn this podcast. The murders that transpired in the episodes are real. The writers and producers are trying to retell the stories in the most compelling way possible.
With all of that being said, I don’t think this podcast is inherently bad. Instead, I think it crosses lines and pushes the envelope of morbidity. Does this podcast need to exist? Probably not. There’s probably a lot of creeps out there listening to it living dark fantasies through the monsters told about here. I much prefer the outside perspective Sword and Scale and other true crime podcast give us.”Read full review »
