“I really tried to give this one a chance. But after 6.5 episodes, I’m quitting. The entire premise of this podcast rests on one-sided opinions from a convicted murderer’s family members, wishful thinking from deep inside the host’s imagination, contradictory finger-pointing at the media and the state of Illinois, and victim-shaming of a dead woman who can’t give her side of the story. I’m actually shocked this got produced in the first place, and 12 episodes is way too much for something that should just be a dumb Reddit thread. There are plenty of problems in the justice system, but Chris vaughn’s murder conviction isn’t one of them. The cherry-picking of “evidence” aka opinions from outside observers such as the psychiatrist who never met with Chris Vaughn and the non-medical expert attorney who can’t tell the difference between homicide and suicide is laughable, except it’s also deplorable and incredibly frustrating. Like, oh yeah he just went to strip clubs to “chat” - because that’s where all the best conversations happen. No offense to strip club workers and dancers but come on. I mean this is literally a lesson in how NOT to form a conclusion. It’s highly insulting to the victims and their families and honestly shameful. If chris Vaughn didn’t murder his entire family, then who on earth did? There are actual innocent people that aren’t rich white men who deserve a chance at freedom. Maybe focus on those real stories next time.”
