Great info
I listen to a lot of fitness & health podcasts, and this one stands out: tons of practical, no-nonsense advice and information. Mike is more of a tried-and-true teacher rather than suggesting you "hack" your way to fitness by trying every new thing under the sun each week, which I really like. That isn't to say that he isn't up-to-date and current, but he's also not telling you to eat bat wings for recovery or whatever the latest little thing is. For most of us, hitting the low hanging fruit will yield the best bang for our buck, so he focuses on that. A bonus: none of the ridiculous banter that is so often a part of podcasting. Not that it isn't good to have a little fun, but sheesh - some podcasts sort of waste your time chit chatting, and you feel like maybe they forgot they hit record. This podcast is really much more dense, so a great use of time. Very helpful!Read full review »

Really helpful. Cuts through all the nonsense in the fitness world to tell you what works and why it works.

I happened upon this podcast when I read an interview transcript between Mike and Mark Rippetoe. I like Mike's no-holds-barred way of talking and he can back up all of his data with research. The MFL website is great as well.Read full review »
