A superb podcast utterly spoiled by the presenters’ use of the definite article. Whilst I understand their presentation is written and then read, they completely ignore correct pronunciation of ‘the’. This is governed by the first letter of the following word. If it begins with a vowel it should be pronounced as ‘thee’ to help speech to flow. To use the shortened pronunciation breaks the flow and makes for an abrupt break in their speech. It is something most learn in their formative years and makes them sound infantile. I realise the concept is probably alien to them but, as the podcast is recorded and edited, it is hardly a problem to correct this annoyance. It’s a pity as the content is excellent and consistently so.
