This podcast I enjoy I like how they talk about many authors and books not just one person! Totally recommendable

Is so soothing. If I could have a separate podcast with you reading stories, my insomnia would be cured <3

These hosts are hitting their stride and blending commentary well. I don’t understand the sponsors that are announced and not played...

I love Louise and Mary Kay! They talk about really interesting topics around Lit Fic like the struggles of translation, the problems with the White Male Canon, great under the radar reads, and more. I’m glad to see Bookriot continues to expand their podcast library with new and interesting hosts...Read full review »

the hosts seem very intelligent but there is no enthusiasm in their presentation. they often go on tangents and present material they clearly haven’t prepared anything for. someone get these hosts a public speaking class and a research assistant and this might be a listenable podcast. for now,...Read full review »

This is exactly the podcast I was looking for. The hosts seem to thinking hard about what makes something literature, and they include diverse voices/writers with genuine enthusiasm. My TBR list has grown every time I listen. Love it.

Listened to several episodes and was equally underwhelmed by each one. The hosts are not engaging, there was no prep work on topics. It was like listening to two acquaintances ramble about books they maybe read 15 years ago whilst waiting for their dentist appointment.

Get rid of the Southern moderator!!!! This is NOT a religious podcast! Was BR purchased?! Not sure I will listen anymore if this person moderates. Is this a Fox podcast? Ugh what is happening Book Riot?! Jeff, Rebecca, Liberty, Amanda and Jen—really!!! Keep the Brit and maybe invite guests to...Read full review »

Covers a lot of genres and topics, discusses goings on in the literary and publishing space. Charming, smart, down to earth hosts. Generally just a great podcast for bookish people.

BookRiot is a great source of podcasts about books and reading. The main podcast is superb, as are the genre ones that I subscribe to. Literary fiction was a huge gap in the provision and I was pleased to see it filled. Having started well and having covered some great topics, I don’t yet look...Read full review »

I’m really enjoying this podcast! I wasn’t sure at first, but Mary Kay and Louise bring up such engaging topics and a variety of books, it’s great! Listening to them is like listening to fellow book nerd friends, I wish I could be part of the conversations and debates. I appreciate that they...Read full review »

I’m fairly new to literary podcasts but this has quickly become a favourite. The discussions between the two hosts are interesting and intelligent, but also funny and filled with warmth so that you feel that you are amongst friends. I look forward to more episodes!

I’ve tried each episode and I just can’t give this podcast another chance. If you don’t know what you’re talking about then don’t host a podcast. Or do your homework before you record. Or go back and edit every time one of you says you don’t know or outright make an error. Plus I think it’s boring.

I wish the hosts would either do a little more prep before recording, or edit the ‘cast to stop and verify facts. There are far too many instances of “I don’t know” and “I forgot” for my taste

These are the type of conversations I wish I heard more of! These two make the love for LitFic feel fun and artful! I love the discussion of culture behind the books and authors they discuss

Oh this show makes my English literature, novel devouring, pop culture soul happy. I so appreciated that episode 0 asks straight away, what is literary fiction? And I love that the answer is simple and kind of perfect and comes from two readers and not a panel of experts. Cannot wait to listen to...Read full review »

I have had a love/hate relationship with Book Riot for 6 years. Their hosts are generally biased against Literary Fiction and most of their hosts sound like dumb teenage valley girls. This podcast fixes both problems. Two intelligent, articulate hosts who love Lit Fic (and are open-minded...Read full review »

It's become quite popular to dismiss and mock literary fiction on podcasts so I'm thrilled that Mary Kay and Louise are bringing Bookriot's signature cheerful charm and thoughtful dialogue to my favorite genre. The podcast's production quality is excellent and both women have...Read full review »
