He’s worked with elite sporting organizations and athletes to optimize sleep, recovery, and performance, and researches in the areas of sports science, sleep science, jet lag and travel, chronobiology, health and safety, shiftwork, nutrition and performance. He is also an an adjunct associate professor at Edith Cowan University. During the course of his career, Ian has worked with elite and highly trained athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS), as well as professional teams across many disciplines. He regularly speaks on those topics and has co-authored technical reports and written several scientific articles. He's a regular reviewer for scientific peer-reviewed journals. Ian served for the Irish Military for 5 years and has completed over 20 ultramarathons, including the Ultra-Trail Australia (x7) and Leadville 100 (x2). He's also involved in ultra-ocean swimming and has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
