Good way to get my laughs
This podcast has me laughing out loud. I think some listeners won't enjoy the way Michael Ian Black compares his "travails" with those of Jude, but I think it adds insult to injury (in a tragic and funny way) because it's too obvious that Jude's problems are 1000 times those of Michael Ian Black's. I also love the faux intellectual airs which are contantly pierced by crass pop culture references and repeated "what the hell does this word mean?" I can not really believe our beloved host doesn't know how the book will turn out. I shudder to think how he will read that. I will find out! It really is a great novel, a bit melodramatic though, and this podcast honors the novel while pointing this out.Read full review »

More reviews of Obscure with Michael Ian Black
Michael, I love you and your new show. And it’s debut coincides with my plan to read a classic novel or two over the summer. What a perfect combination— the always delightful, insightful and funny MIB and stimulating literature! Can’t wait to hear the next episode!

I had to stop and laugh uncontrollably for a good minute at the unexpected mentioning of tuberculosis. So far so great Mr. Black.
