Stream of unconscious drivel
Amusing at first, good to hear a lighthearted sideways look at something rather than an over-obsessive fanboy approach. But lighthearted should not mean you don’t take the production of the podcast seriously. The presenters obviously spend more time thinking up puns and character nicknames than looking into actual plot points. And deliberately calling John Corbett “Jeremy Corbyn” once was maybe amusing, but not constantly for a whole episode. The presenters don’t bother to do even the most basic research about things they do want to talk about. If you want to waffle on for ten minutes about a throwaway line such as “by the hairs on your chinny chin chin”, then at least figure out it’s a reference to the three little pigs and the wolf, not little red riding hood and all the related irrelevant inferences you draw from that. Lauren is like even more kind of like annoying, you know what I mean? The segment of the show with her in could be 50% shorter if they could cut out all her filler words, especially “like”. She actually sounds like she has some good points to make but needs to take a breath and plan a sentence before opening her mouth. Some of what she comes out with sounds like the meaningless nonsense spoken by characters in the spoof series W1A. I swear she started one sentence with “Yes, no, exactly. I mean it’s kind of like you know when you like..”. Annoying -youknowwarramean? Obsessed with Line of Duty? No. Self-obsessed pile of doody? Yes.

I’m surprised the BBC have allowed this podcast to be released each week. I can only assume the idea that came out of the production meeting was to produce a podcast that totally undermines the sublime writing and acting in Line of Duty. I have now happily unsubscribed. To put it politely,...Read full review »

A podcast hosted by at least one person who has blatantly never watched the programme. Possibly one of the worst things to have ever appeared under a BBC label.

I have been a fan of Line of Duty for quite some time now, and sadly the presenters in this podcast feel they have been picked by the BBC team to make it more to make it comedic rather than entertaining and thorough. It is also blatantly obvious that while they are often good at giving a light...Read full review »
