For the entrepreneur
My brother was like, check it out. How could I say no. He’s been a central figure in my life for “how to start a business from the ground up”—that is for me, myself just getting his toes wet in sales/marketing in the creative industry—or better stated, referring again to the host of this podcast you are about listen to, I would write Axel taught me that you—YOU—can start a business from the family kitchen ground up... anyway, so, this week, with a little free time and a willing ear the first interview played, and then the second. And since, wow, Ive been thinking in cycles about rain water and power duo couples. It inspires to hear real business people be real, not exaggerated or “influenced” by current trends. Im talking about the interviewees. Sincerity would seem a scarce resource if it weren't for daily reminders like Packing Taste. And ah! The second episode especially, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is a fine fine podcast that will engage your fantasy of starting a business with a lover/wife. At least it was that way with me. (How can I review without mentioning how listening to this personally affected me?) The business I am engaged with begun with a loving partner as well. And to listen to the second podcast about two texans gone new yorkers gone back west to fulfill their dream of manufacturing great products really left an impression. So it is possible, I whisper to myself, as the rest of the episode plays. Probably the biggest take away for me (and how many things like podcasts do we listen to these days and “take away” something?) is that it is possible. It is possible to “start small,” then grow. It is possible to invite real business people and get fired up by their straightforward passion. It is possible to open shop with your partner in our day in age. Last, but not least, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it is absolutely possible to “share great products with more and more people”—every entrepreneur’s real goal. Something I learned by listening. Now you listen. ;)Read full review »
