Breakfast cereal episode disappointing
You need to get a marketing or advertising historian on to complete the story of breakfast cereals. The episode glossed over huge elements of the early history of cereals - including why the signature logo was introduced to Kellogg’s cereals, the battle with ‘corn flake’ imitators, the battles with Post and the evolution of General Foods, the introduction of other formats before WW1 (i.e. in Kellogg’s case - Rice Krispies and All Bran) and the evolution of healthy family cereals (like Total) and adult cereals (like Special K) as well as the post WW2 explosion in children’s cereals. This is easily the worst episode of any History Hit podcast I have ever heard (and I’ve been a subscriber since it first launched) because it was superficial and in places inaccurate/ misleading.

I love this show. It’s always so interesting. Even when the episode topic isn’t necessarily something I ever thought I’d care about, I end up being very amused or awed by the end.

I am sad that Patented will not be producing more episodes. I have loved everything about this show… Especially Dallas!
