Brainstormers Series - What can psychedelics teach us about mental health?
Listen now
Description
Psychiatrist Stanislav Grof said “Psychedelics, used responsibly and with proper caution, would be for psychiatry what the microscope is for biology and medicine or the telescope is for astronomy.” Today’s podcast is on the subject of psychedelics with Amanda Feilding. She is the Director of the Beckley Foundation, a charitable organisation set up in 1998 to initiate and carry out pioneering research into the underlying mechanisms and the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, and to create a scientific base for global drug policy reform. Amanda  is perhaps the original ‘disruptor’ reopening the whole field of research into psychedelics, from psilocybin to LSD, MDMA to DMT. Now two decades later let’s catch up on what’s happening in this exciting new frontier of psychedelics and what this could show us about mental health, happiness and consciousness itself.
