Description
Have you ever struggled or doubted yourself as a coach? Wondered if you were smart enough to really get results? Or maybe thought that everyone else out there was doing a better job than you? Well welcome to the club – because both myself and today’s guest have felt the same way at one point in time! Andy McCloy is the owner of Body Creations, Inc in Huntsville, Alabama, where they train athletes of all ages and sports including football, basketball, baseball, mixed martial arts (MMA), wrestling, soccer, softball, and golf. Andy has worked with hundreds of athletes ranging from middle and high school to the Professional levels, including the NFL and Arena Football Leagues. And in this episode, Andy and I not only talk about the struggles of being a coach, but the insecurities he dealt with early-on in his career. If you’re looking for a story with a kick-ass hero going on an awesome journey, you’re going to love today’s episode. Let’s do this!   You don’t have to sacrifice the connection with your family just because you’re working more. I would argue that a lot of people in your family will respect you even more because of it. – Andy McCloy   This Week on the Physical Prep Podcast: * A brief intro from Andy, and what’s new since the last time he was on the show. * Why Andy originally got into coaching, and the unique path he took to get the ball rolling. * How struggle and insecurity drove him head-first into continuing education, and how his mindset has evolved as a result. * The early influences in Andy’s career, and the people that helped him along the way. * Why Andy doubted himself early-on – and how he got over that and truly started to believe in himself as a coach. * How Andy is helping build the next generation of great trainers and coaches at his gym. * When he realized that instead of just coaching, he needed to put an emphasis on becoming a better business owner and leader. * A really fun lightning round where we discuss the shoe game, how being a dad has impacted him, and the biggest lessons he’s learned running a brick-and-mortar facility.     Connect with Andy: * Andy on IG * Body Creations Inc Website   Related Links: * Andy’s other appearances on the Physical Prep Podcast * Alwyn Cosgrove on Fat Loss Training, Mentorship and Paying it Forward * Fellows Coffee * Onyx Coffee   Have YOU Heard About the New IFAST University? When Bill and I created IFASTU back in 2016, our singular goal was to make it an elite resource for trainers, coaches and rehab professionals across the globe. Because there are 100’s, if not 1000’s of coaches who would love to come to IFAST and learn from us, but can’t. So the new IFAST University is not only sleeker and more streamlined, but we also have two membership options based on where you’re at in your career. Our IFASTU Standard option is like the Netflix of training con ed.
