Going Downhill
The hour-long This American Life episode that spawned this podcast was intelligent and to-the-point and, in fact, this podcast started off well, but, lacking the crisis to report on, it has gone downhill. Though naive enthusiasm is a good thing on the part of reporters, there is such a thing as too much ignorance. As an example, cherry picking their 'indicators' (at one point a word) redolent of selection bias and antecdotalism and about as relevant as the Colbert Report's 'Word of the Day' (and probably reaching for the same audience). Don't be so hard on Laura! She is learning just like the rest of us and I happen to really like her input! I am curious though, why are there many more shows on NPR then on Itunes?
