“The hour-long This American Life episode that spawned this podcast was intelligent and to-the-point and, in fact, this podcast started off well, but, lacking the crisis to report on, it has gone downhill. Though naive enthusiasm is a good thing on the part of reporters, there is such a thing as too much ignorance. As an example, cherry picking their 'indicators' (at one point a word) redolent of selection bias and antecdotalism and about as relevant as the Colbert Report's 'Word of the Day' (and probably reaching for the same audience).
