Biased, uninformed and out-of-touch
Having been a massive fan of Pod Save America and Pod Save the World for a few years now, I became a great fan of the commentary on policitcs, and the generally unbiased content (up until recently given the sate of the USA - this is not a criticism). This iteration of ‘Pod Save…’ however, is a biased, out-of-touch, foul mouthed, uninformed version of that. I’ve tried listening to a few episodes now, but the complete lack of diversity of thought, and how out-of-touch the presenters are gives a really poor take on the current state of UK politics. They are so pro-Labour, that they physically cannot bring themselves to do anything other than criticise the other political parties in our system, and act as though everything Labour does floppedraligous - it is really disappointing to see this. This ends up in an out-of-touch show, that has no clue how UK politics works, and has no clue what the British public think. They fail to use polls, or even basic common sense in their analysis of anything. I’ve seen less politically biased articles from the Sun and the Guardian than this podcast. It’s really disappointing to see a show that I had such high hopes for, completely floped into the utter drivle that this is. The final straw for me, was the episode on the bi-elections in July 2023, which completely discounted the results in two of the three elections and only posed the point that “if this was translated to the national election, Labour would have a huge majority”. It’s closed minded, biased, and out-of-touch thinking like that which has ruined any potential this show had. To note, I am not a ‘tory sympathiser’ or anything of that nature, I am a normal member of the British public that has an interest in politics and wants to hear an unbiased show going into the current state of affairs, unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere to find this. The way to improve it would be to take the tried and tested methodology used for the other pod save shows. Bring in diversity of thought, people who have had exposure to the political system, and more importantly, presenters who actually understand what is happening to the general public in the UK.

Or what it’s trying to achieve. I wanted to like it but was worried it may be insufferably Corbynite (and I think it might be). If it’s going to focus on the monarchy and the left side of the ‘culture wars’, that’s not great. The monarchy is nowhere near the biggest issue facing the UK and...Read full review »

Let that frame this review I think that instead of simply giving one extremely biased view which you do admit to having in order to make people trust you. Now I’m not a monarchist I would say I fall into the meh category but we must all admit they give more than they take. To make a comment on...Read full review »
