The incessant background music and the presenter Sascha Sullivan are a turn off, I’m afraid. Her flippancy and lack of understanding of UK politics and assumed centrality of Australian politics to UK politics is just daft. Bring back Aggie Chambre! And also the episode description and content...Read full review »

I was sad when Ailbhe left but the show has continued from strength to strength, love the focus on the lives and views of ordinary people across the UK. Most other shows are recorded in ivory towers. Highly recommend.

Fabulous review by Aggie. Thank you. If ever there was a case for joined up thinking this is it. Everyone seems to agree the goal of “reduce crime, safer aspirational society and positive cost benefit position”. So it shouldn’t even be a political question. How about Labour doing something really...Read full review »

Thought the focus group episode “revenge of the blob” was interesting and did represent a lot of what I’ve experienced in the civil service. However some of the comments (never seen anyone sacked, there’s a specific knack to succeeding in interviews) are equally applicable to large organisations...Read full review »

Wonderful podcast. Fascinating topics and well researched and conducted The episode about bullying was brilliant and important for everyone to listen to. Its time there was a MeToo movement for bullying victims

Fascinating episode about insidious influence of IEA. So true that spokespeople for them seem to appear at a moment’s notice.

As I rarely listen to BBC or ITV “News” programmes anymore as they are almost always biased towards the “New Elite’s” views or pro-Woke or Anti-Brexit, I’d forgotten how annoying I found Robert Preston’s ludicrously slow delivery of words. That added to the fact he was one of the great promoters...Read full review »

Good- phone recorded interviews when presenters are out and about do make for hard listening though- very hard to follow/sound quality poor when not in a studio

Yea but how can you tell us, you’ve been contacted by someone from the foreign office in an elevator and then not follow up on it! ^^

Interesting episodes. One thought - he’s certainly changed his mind (or flip flopped?), but in 2019 if he thought he might one day be PM, he must have imagined there’d be a bit of cash for policies to go with it. A year, even 9 months ago he might have hoped the treasury would have a few billion...Read full review »

I have just been trying to listen to what could well be an excellent podcast but gave up because the continual background music. Why is this necessary ? How does it enhance the listening experience ? I like your podcast but had to give up because of the incessant background music/sounds. Kept thinking it would stop, perhaps after the headlines, but it went on and on…. Very disturbing, pity…

My new favorite podcast. I am an Anglophile living in Los Angeles, and I never completely understood how parliament works. This podcast is fantastic!! Informative and super funny. A great entertaining way to understand both current events and history.

The great thing about this show is that it respects Westminster politics enough to think deeply about it—yes, on the level of recent events but also examining the system that creates and reports them. The host also has a way of obtaining and featuring delicious quotes from his guests. These deep...Read full review »

Normally an excellent and insightful podcast, however this week’s episode with Tom Watson definitely’ pulled its punches’ In a wide ranging interview covering his political career, he was not about his prominent role in Operation Midland for which he was heavily criticised

Really enjoy the podcast. It’s good to explore issues rather than just a 3 minute slot on the radio. And really good to have an alternative to interviews that are about the gotcha. And a fantastic start from Aibhe - looking forward to hearing more from her.

Always enjoy this pod, but can we have some more female guests? Season 2 has been a pretty all-male affair so far…. Big fan otherwise, particularly enjoyed the Johnny Mercer episode

A real pleasure to listen to, with the well paced voice, clarity, music, and so forth. Really enjoying this new podcast from Politico, presented by the excellent Jack Blanchard. It’s approach of exploring the themes behind the stories and events dominating the headlines makes for a refreshing addition to the UK politics podcast scene.
