Misinformation
I was recommended to listen to #92 - sorry it was a disaster. Lindsay made a complete mess of explaining FATMAX - she kept referring to percentages, despite Brad attempting to correct her. It is nothing to do with percentages; it is the point at which g/min of fat oxidation is maximised. To top it all at 13:20 mins, Brad refers to a 10 minute improvement in a marathon from a 3lb weight reduction - now let's just think about that. I am about 15lbs over my ideal weight. So that would be a potential 50 minute improvement in a marathon or a 25 min improvement in a half marathon; that would make me a 1:10 half marathon at 54 years old with a pb of 1:21 when I was 21! I accept it may be a genuine mistake (the real answer is around 2 secs per mile per lb); but people listen to these podcasts and believe they are gospel.Read full review »
