Skip the self-loathing
For many of us, food and eating is a compulsion, a manifestation of deeper yearnings, fears, callings. What if we stop regarding such behaviors as something to be fought and conquered (an approach that, at least in my case, has failed me miserably) and try to see them as messengers, pointing to areas to tend to in our psyche? What if exercise becomes a way of finding yourself, not just losing those extra pounds? How about listening to this valued messenger, in order to eat for flourishing and nourishment? Marc and Emily acknowledge all the facets entailed in eating, and I find their multidisciplinary approach sound and fascinating. I cannot wait for more!
