I have listened to this show for close to 40 years and I always walk away a little smarter and definitely entertained. Bob is the best host on CBC.

I’ve been a devoted listener since before Bob even took the helm. I don’t think I’ve missed a show, ever. Absolutely the best science program in any medium. I hope it never goes away.

I’ve been listening to this show for many years and this podcast never disappointed me with its quality of presenting science news in popular and easy to digest format. Bob McDonald is great/perfect host so I hope he will have enough energy to continue for many more years.

Q&Q
My phone kept sending a rating before I got to the 5th star! Q&Q is definitely 5 STAR. All interviewers should be required to study Bob Mc.

Just discovered this program. It holds my attention with a wide variety of subjects. Is a welcome relief from the less pleasant aspects of life. I’m sorry that I discovered it right before their summer break!

I listen to many science shows, such as Sci Fri, BBC, etc. But they pale in comparison to our own Quirks & Quarks. It has just the right mix of intelligent & layman questions along with letting the scientist or reporter talk. And… they focus on the right stories & why they’re...Read full review »

I learn so much from this show, including about emerging science that I can apply when doing advocacy for my environmental charity. And weird trivia that comes in handy at the strangest of times. Bob MacDonald is an exceptional interviewer who always seems to ask just what I’m wondering about at...Read full review »

The “science denier” segment is one side. It assumes that there cannot be two view points or two opposing group of scientists. The speaker defines anyone who disagrees with him is a conspiracy theorist. Speaker is a single minded thinker who only see the social media narrative. “Inductive...Read full review »

Too bad I couldent give zero stars. If you cant make it on your own without bailouts in exchange for cowtowing to the gov agenda and talking points then you dont deserve your jobs. You have just shown that you dont really practice science... at least not when it goes against the gov and could...Read full review »

I've been listening regularly to Quirks since before Bob McDonald hosted the show. It's always been a good listen, although I have noticed lately that the Journal Nature often covers exactly the same stories with similar interviews. My main peeve with this show is its recent tendency to...Read full review »

I listen to many science podcasts, and this is the only one that relies so heavily on participants reading from a script, with questions pre-submitted to guests and then read off from a script by the host, and interviewees reading back answers from a script. The lack of spontaneity is so obvious...Read full review »

I love this podcast. It makes me feel like I am homeschooling my kids. I was listening recently to a news story about quantum physics and it turns out quarks are more mysterious then first supposed. I think the announcer even said that they were quirky. I shut down the program immediately...Read full review »

Bob is an excellent host and explains some of the more technical concepts, helping his guests communicate. I always learn so much from listening and all of the segments catch my interest. If you like real science and the latest discoveries, this is your show.

I've listened to this podcast since it started, but haven't listened since the segmented version was discontinued. This is a great show but I don't have the time or interest to listen to the whole show. Bring back the segmented version or add chapters so that people can listen to...Read full review »

Long time listener, started with radio… now it’s easily one of my favourite podcasts. The diversity and in-depth topic reviews of all that is happening in the science world is amazing. Bob does a great job of simplifying the complicated!
