A Gem!
Retired Louisiana police officer with a great voice tells stories of cases he worked. Not just another retelling of the same old same olds. Lots of info about investigative details, so it's a fascinating inside look, and quick and humane sketches of the people involved, so it feels true and real, not slick and packaged. I hope he can keep it up, because, despite the usual production glitches of an amateur podcast - which are surprisingly unobtrusive actually - this is already one of the best.Read full review »

I listen to a lot of true crime, and I’ve listened to hundreds of hard stories. I can handle serious and horrible crime stories and I’m no “snowflake” as he references to try to get away with his crassness. This is a great series - real and informative. Told as honestly and sincerely as can be imagined. Although it’s often tough to hear the details, it’s definitely real.
