I can’t remember how I stumbled upon Catherine Townsend but I’m SO GRATEFUL that fate brought me here. I can’t get enough of these episodes, and hope there will be many many more to come…my friends and I call it my guilty pleasure haha.

This is the best pod cast! I almost listen to all of them in one day!!!

While I love the storylines and the hosts, I can’t stand commercials. There are at least 4 through an episode and I prefer Patreon accounts to avoid this. I would rather pay a subscription each month than listen to same companies flooding my stream. Yeah I am aware this is how they make money and...Read full review »

Great content, but the constant background music is annoying and unnecessary

I read another review dissing your grammar and all I have to say is get a real problem!🤦‍♀️🤣 I think you guys are great like all Audio Chuck productions. I don’t think people realize how much work, time and effort are put into each episode.. personally I think you are all doing a great job keep...Read full review »

I think the host speaks way too fast. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with her fast talking, girlish delivery. She often drags the victims reputations through the muck. She makes lots of big, obvious mistakes in reporting the facts . Listen to the Chris Watts episode and many huge, outright...Read full review »

Why do all podcasts feel that they need to have background music? It is so annoying it takes away from the podcast
njdhjd1978 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/11/21
This podcast is really nice and the narrator does an amazing job explaining the cases. I just wish the background music wasn’t there, it’s sooo loud and distracting. Please don’t use it anymore

The stories are actually great, but I’m sorry to say that I lose interest and focus because of the way the hostess speaks, with this kind of monotone voice and no real emotion behind the words. I can’t get passed it no matter how much I try.

This is just the right amount of time for a little true crime tale. Delias voice is soothing and her narration style is concise. She is an excellent journalist and investigator and I love learning about this side of crime. Keep it up.

Love the stories- well researched and entertaining. The narration is compelling and the stories are well told. But the music is horrible! It’s the same few notes over and over again to the extent that it really diminishes my enjoyment of the podcast.

I know it’s only been like 5 or 6 weeks, but why aren’t there more episodes??? It’s so good!

way too many commercials

I keep hoping this podcast will improve, because there are some stories I haven’t heard before, but it’s a frustrating listen. Pay someone else to edit the scripts. There are too many inconsistencies, needless repetitions, and errors for episodes this short.

I really love the concept of this podcast and every case is fascinating. I’m from the UK and naturally gravitate and relate to true crime stories closer to home, but this is such a niche and interesting aspect of crime that I’m hooked. Catherine is very well researched and I love that she has a...Read full review »

The stories are fascinating and the narration is excellent; however this series, like so many other podcasts, makes use of unpleasant and monotonously repetitive music in the background. It’s an odd ubiquitous feature of podcasts that diminishes their otherwise high quality.

This would be a lot more intriguing if there was no music attached makes it really hard to listen. Also they speak as though they are telling a story when a lot of these are peoples lives and they should have some sensitivity to that they should be able to talk about these people in a way that...Read full review »

These stories are packed with great detail and fascinating, but Catherine reads way too fast. I thought I’d mistakenly clicked the 2x speed button. I agree with other reviews that she sounds like she’s reading, and doesn’t seem interested in what she’s speed reading. Love the accent, and don’t...Read full review »

I love the idea of this podcast. The content is great and thoroughly researched but the delivery and presentation is AWFUL. The music is distracting and I find myself zoning out to block the noise. To top it off, the narrator does not read her script well. She pauses every 3 words or so. I...Read full review »

I have always been intrigued by this case and greatly value the pathological explanation you offered to support his antisocial behaviors long before he savagely attempted to murder his parents. I am so curious about his older brothers’ take on growing up with him. Looking forward to more episodes...Read full review »

The podcasting isn’t bad but the background music drives me crazy I have to unsubscribe. Maybe I’ll check back in a few weeks to see if all of these complaints have fixed it.

Similar to Park Predators in that grammar and pronunciation need improvement but the content is great. Biased and judgmental at times. The southern accent comes and goes. 🤔

Love this murder podcast! Lots of good information. The host does a great job of researching the story.

I do agree that the background music can me a little much. However, I can deal cause I love how fast and straightforward Catherine tells these stories!

Listened to a couple episodes and then subscribed. Missing one star because of the overly-intrusive background music—I agree with others on this. Tone it down PLEASE. UPDATE I’ve given up on this. The cadence of her speech—three words, pause—has begun to grate on my nerves. Combined with too...Read full review »

I love this podcast but agree with everyone who says the background music is distracting. Once you tune into the music you can’t hear anything else. I’m so tired of podcasters who claim to be out to retell a good story but can’t seem to keep the little quips to themselves. I don’t want to hear your agenda. I want to hear the story! So since Im from this “lagging” south as you referred to it as, I’ll lag my way off as a subscriber.
Sissarae27 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/29/21
The story is told in a way that it’s hard to follow & isn’t engaging. Very monotone. Can’t stand the constant music in the background.

I listen to a lot of true crime Podcasts but I have to say this one is by far my favorite.
Happy12b via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/29/21
You can get most, if not all, of these true crime stories done better & more in-depth elsewhere. I’m disappointed in myself for thinking it’d be better! Save yourself the time & just read the Wikipedia page! That’s basically what she’s doing every week! 🤷🏻‍♂️
Corbindevils via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/29/21
I enjoy the stories and the style of the podcast. I find that she repeats herself often and restates some of the details multiple times. I don’t know if it’s an editing issue or she doesn’t catch it in her writing but it’s been enough times now for me to notice and write a review.

Very interesting to listen to but I can’t handle the ads. This is a great show if you can skip through ads. But like many if you are busy while listening most of the show will be ads

I just binged them all, love the story teller. Amazing podcast 💜

I would have rated it higher if there was no background music and if you had covered more cases not already covered by other audiochuck productions and/or other already popular podcasts.

Not a fan of the weird and repetitive background music at all. Can’t listen to this podcast anymore.

I stumbled upon this podcast out of research for a true crime podcast and luckily found this.
