A great podcast with great research straight to the point!

The news in LA just discovered the existence of an LA Sherriff’s gang/clic, Los Banditos, I think they called themselves. Angelenos of color need be worried.

I don’t know about this podcast. I will never understand this weird mentality of decriminalizing criminals. At one point, one of the criminals said that he was only burglarizing a house, so he didn’t deserve to be shot at...well, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. And at the end of the day,...Read full review »

As a fan of Serial, I was excited about this podcast when I first heard about it. I listened to three episodes - which was generous - before stopping. It’s clearly one-sided and anti-law enforcement. The naive host, Annie, accepts anything the criminals say as truth while insinuating the police...Read full review »

I really enjoyed learning about this case and listening to the perspectives of the people who committed the crime, but I did not think that the journalist conducted her interviews in a professional manner. It didn't matter who she was speaking to, not once did she change her tone. Although I...Read full review »

within the first 10 minutes, one can easily tell the biased angle from which the podcast is reporting. But, I’m sure fake news enthusiasts will enjoy the listen.

I've gone through 3 episodes and it just never has caught my attention at any point.Read full review »

This podcast’s reporter stitches together detailed research to look at officer involved shootings in LA. It is engrossing to listen to and as you listen, it reminds you why investigative journalism is so important in our society.

I doubt all the people reviewing this as biased have listened all the way through.

Terrible journalist. False information is being given in these podcasts. You’re no better than these criminals you’re trying to defend.
SlumericanShitizen via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/23/18
Boring, and just a bad premise. It’s an obvious woman with an agenda and an axe to grind trying hard to make it look like all policemen are evil. I can’t really take it seriously when I know it’s so slanted.

The narrative that police are randomly shooting unarmed black men more than any other race and without cause has been repeatedly debunked. The Washington Post won a Pulitzer for its factual assessment and data on this, but people continue to blow it off. However, it gets good ratings so people...Read full review »

I really wanted to like this podcast. Exploring the issue of police shootings is a crucial and much needed dialogue in America today. But this isn’t actually that dialogue. The host / investigator makes “factual” statements with tone and subtext that make her opinion clear without any context...Read full review »

I feel like nothing was ever found out. Nothing was solved or presented in a way that would help me make my own conclusions. Disappointing

This is a intersting P-CASTthat sides with criminals. After 3 episodes, KPCC oviously sides with the criminal - admitted felons - that plead guilty but are really are not? It seems to me, if you are truely scared of interations with the police you would not burglerize homes? I mean if you...Read full review »

Amazingly well produced podcast, really great content and super interesting subject matter. Seemed ike an unbiased view from both sides of the fence and really brought to light a problem that exsists and still exsists to day. WOULD RECMEND TO ANYONE.

This is basically cop hater, criminal sympathizer porn. People love to feel bad for criminals until it’s their house getting broken into and their child’s room getting ransacked.

This podcast is a true example of unbiased investigative reporting.

Love this podcast so far! We need to get these crooked cops off the street! I hate that this podcast is already over. Will we get more episodes soon?

Seems that Officer Inzunza is in fear for his life quite a bit more than his fellow officers. If they aren’t going to get rid of him then he should be on desk duty. I’m sure pushing a pencil would scare the hell out of him.

5 stars for the superb investigative reporting on one of America’s most notoriously corrupt police departments. 1 star for Anne Gilbertson’s awful vocal fry that made this podcast even more difficult to listen to than the graphic descriptions of police violence. Keep up the great work but please...Read full review »

I started the first episode, but was somewhat amazed that the reporting person immediately believes the felon who was breaking into homes. He claims he would never have had a gun with him because he was on parole so he wouldn't want to get caught with a gun.... Ummm, okay, but it's okay...Read full review »

Unbelievably one sided. Always happy to see public servants held accountable but this is a reporter with an agenda. A reporter seeking out evidence for her own beliefs at the expense of the truth.

Please listen to all 6 episodes before making an opinion. Some people were very cruel to Annie & the show (I’m assuming their Trolls). Annie reports all sides of this story. I really enjoy the way she lays out the facts of the case, while looking at each perspective- those of the officers in question and the people involved in the "incidents." I like how her opinions are backed up by facts and that this isn't another podcast based purely on suspicion. The...Read full review »

It’s produced well, but it’s not really compelling. After listening to the entire 6 episodes the proof that the guy didn't do it is...the cop has shot a few people, and the guy says he didn’t do it. That’s it. There’s nothing else. There really isn’t any investigative reporting here. There’s...Read full review »

Why isn’t this actually on the radio? Or better yet a reoccurring segment on the nightly news in every major US city?

I was hooked from the beginning. The passion and the courage of Annie Gilbertson is beyond words. I can only imagine how dangerous this investigation was/is. I was taken to a place only the unfortunate experience often. Thank you.

I, like many other reviewers, LOVE true crime podcasts. However, this one feels a bit “anti cop”. The suspect(s) in these cases were clearly committing a crime. And let’s not fail to mention, they are REPEAT criminals. I don’t feel sorry for them. Not one single ounce. You do the crime, you do...Read full review »

Investigative reporter Annie Gilbertson and her colleagues have put together a compelling tale of a cop with a habit of shooting people. The “true crime” narrative unfolds in a riveting fashion that grows highly addictive after a few minutes of listening. I can’t wait for the next episodes!

Well-produced, as expected. I admit, there are only two episodes so far but the journalist is only able to get information from the offenders in this story and forms her views from there (or so it seems at this point); admitting, “I’ll make my own file [on the deputy].” One moment she takes the...Read full review »
