This was fascinating and very sad to listen to - I’m not from Canada and hadn’t heard survivors themselves talk about their experiences in the “schools” (if you can call them that) before. They were very brave to talk so publicly about the trauma they experienced. The podcast was well produced...Read full review »

Listening to these first hand accounts is truly heartbreaking, but it is important to remember.

This short, but powerful series deals with difficult issues, but is very worth the listen. This podcast is both amazingly informative and absolutely heartbreaking. Thank you for giving a voice to survivors. Their story’s need to be told and herd by all Canadians

Terrible story told well. I can’t quite take in that this really happened. It’s genocide .Trying to wipe out a nations culture and traditions was not just Canada, Australia, USA & GB too.

Not very informative. Would be nice to have more history. How did they changed over time? Were children still being forced out of their homes in the 1950’s? It also doesn’t separate the experience of a “strict boarding school” verses residential homes.

I am so grateful to Elders and survivors of residential schools for sharing the truth so that Canadians can understand history and take concrete action on reconciliation.
