Brilliant account of darkness on the edge of Manchester
All the RBP podcasts I've heard have been lively. But the conversation with Jon Savage about Joy Division was something else. Fascinating history of Manc music scene and enlightening conversation about the brilliant life and troubled legacy of Ian Curtis. Harrowing tale redeemed by humour and lots of insight. Unmissable!Read full review »

Some interesting subjects and great guests but I just find Barney Hoskins impossible to listen to. Seems like as much an opportunity to show off his encyclopaedic knowledge of music than to showcase his guests.

I’ve been listening to RBP for the last year, nearly every episode, and love the discussion format of the show, the depth of knowledge of Barney and Mark and the high calibre of guests, many of which are hugely influential to me as a music journalist. Keep up the great work.

Mark and Barney are engaging and well-informed hosts. I enjoyed their back-and-forth about the annals of rock’s history, particularly their thoughts on Radiohead. Their distinct opinions provide a balanced take on each artist. Highly recommend for all music fans, past and present.
