All my yesterdays
As a youngster my high point of the week was the arrival of the Melody Maker and the New Musical Express, bringing news and reviews of my favourite bands and artists and piqueing my interest in new ones yet to be discovered. It was a thrilling time, illuminated by scribes the likes of Nick Kent, Max Bell etc. I also discovered the joys of more focused mags such as Zigzag and Dark Star. Mr Hoskins and co conjure up those great days of music journalism with the RBP podcast and are still introducing me to overlooked gems. Wonderful show. Learned a lot as these guys have been at it for years. And unlike so many other Podcasts they aren’t full of themselves and are obviously just having a good time and talking about a subject they love.
