Very Interesting!
I watched the episode of the ABCT Podcast on Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey on Apple Podcasts, after learning about it through my course on Psych of Exceptional Youth. Dr. Harvey discussed the importance of different factors of sleep, circadian rhythm, and physical health into getting restful sleep. She emphasized that regulating circadian rhythm by developing sleep routines and maintaining good eating and exercise were paramount to feeling rested. This was interesting to me, as it’s something that my therapist has emphasized to me, being that I struggle with getting restful sleep. This research could be vital in informing those who struggle to sleep well or have a hard time falling asleep to try alternatives such as habit formation and prioritizing holistic health in order to attempt to better their experience with sleep.
