This podcast is a breath of fresh air even if you aren't a science fiction nerd like these guys. (But aren't we all?) The discussions are analytical and conversational and the hosts are hilarious and relatable. I have only listened to one episode so far, "Outbreak v. Contagion"...Read full review »

A refreshingly novel approach to looking at science fiction films as well as being lively and very funny. Need proof? Just listen to the review of 2012.

Why do I get german advertisements ahead of the episodes?!

I am really, really enjoying this podcast. It’s funny, witty, and at times even educational. The Outbreak vs Contagion was eerily prescient. My only criticisms is that there are so few! Why aren’t these coming out weekly?

I love this podcast

Came to this after exhausting all of Scott and Drew’s sadly aborted 80s All Over podcast. Scott is funny, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and I’d probably listen to any podcast he produced about films. Highly recommend this.

I know, it’s not a movie and it’s not based in science. But it’s fun!

Such a great pod, found you guys from Junkfood Cinema. This pod has been so very entertaining and the unique point of view with the contrasting histories of the hosts make it fascinating to me. 5 stars, though I think I’ll continue to believe “tractor beam” came from tractoring things in and not...Read full review »

You’re amazing at podcasts and you are always so good at it

Scott is both figuratively and literally one of the most unique voices in film criticism today, and, just like he did in 80s All Over, he continues to make movies fun (regardless of their quality). Talking shop with an actual astrophysicist about the legitimacy of sci-fi plots and their execution...Read full review »

... of 80s All Over comes Science vs. Fiction. If you think this is going to be a Neil deGrasse Tyson-style crapping all over the verisimilitude of films, you are sorely mistaken. Hosts Scott Weinberg and Steven DeGenarro bring the fun, because while one is an astrophysicist and the other is a...Read full review »

Informative, witty, and fun, unlike Neil de Grasse Tyson.

These guys struck gold when they realised they were the perfect combination for this series. I love the level of insight I get when the science comes in and I appreciate the focus on creativity too. In either way, they like film and they are curious about science and how it may support artistic...Read full review »

A fun concept for a podcast which scratches an itch for science and movies. It’s great to listen to Scott talk about movies again, full of enthusiasm for the subjects he covers. The guys are very fair with their criticism and it’s a fun listen even when they don’t like the movie too much. Looking...Read full review »

Episode 1 is a great start to what I expect will become a great series. Scott and Steven are quality hosts, and have interesting insights and perspectives into the topic being discussed. I can't wait for more! Update: 4 episodes in, and I'm still hooked. Essential nerd listening!Read full review »

It’s nice to hear a film podcast where the hosts get straight to the point and talk about films. Too many movie podcasts have the hosts dropping their would-be stand-up jokes throughout and not taking their own subject matter seriously. These guys are really insightful and funny but not annoying.

Having been a big fan of Scott's previous show, the sadly prematurely cancelled 80s All Over I expected this to be good, which it is in places at least. With his usual co-host Drew McWeeny gone so too is the chemistry and crucially the balance. Scott is a big personality and his co-host here...Read full review »

Dope pod. Love the concept and these are the nerds who will rock it. I’m tired, but this pod isn’t. I’m tired.

Great format, fun hosts. I expect a lot of fun on this podcast.

I love the concept of the show. I always wondered how realistic sci fi movies were with certain characters and plots and what not. Scott Weinberg continues to entertain with his insights of film and sense of humor and Steven DeGennaro shines with his scientific background. I really enjoyed the...Read full review »
