Informative, but incredibly windy (bandwidth pig)
If this show was software, it would be the most bloated install. If you are in a rural area with only dialup or EVDO, these guys make it difficult for you (even for the low bandwidth version). 90 minutes for what could be said in 30. Leo's very annoying with his 3 minute rants of advertising, that just creates the motive for the listener to skip. Leo hasn't figure out yet that's it not in the length of the drawn-out annoying ads, but instead creative, brief ads are more effective. Get an ad in and done before making the user want to stab his earballs and skip. The information from Steve Gibson is excellent, very useful. Extremely useful. Just too frustrating for me to spend 70minutes just to download, and add that to my bandwidth cap bill. Just shorten it guys, you can get the same info in. But there are many times you won't get to a topic until 20minutes into the program. Ugh. This is where old folks try to apply old broadcast methods to today's new media... you don't get it. Really GREAT SHOW otherwise. Be prepared to SKIP a lot. There, I tried to make my rant as long as they would have. :)Read full review »

For example, Steve recently tried to discuss the lower layers of the TCP/IP stack. Rather than use a...Read full review »

This is the ONLY podcast I eagerly look forward to a new episode each week. Leo Laporte has his usual charm and balances out some of the deeper topics (mostly security related) Steve Gibson knowledgeably dives deeply into. However, their balanced approach keeps topics timely, informative, and...Read full review »
