“I was vaguely aware of Selected Shorts in the pre-podcast era, and I liked it when I heard it, but I rarely did. It was on at an inconvienant time on my local public radio station, and often, if I happened to turn on the radio when it was on, my attention was divided by cooking or driving or whatever - or I would have to turn the radio off halfway through. Hardly the ideal way to appreciate the great stories featured on the show. Now that I'm subscribed to the podcast, though, I listen on my headphones every week and can give the show the attention it requires. And it's a great show - while I don't fall in love with every story, there's always something really good, and the presentation is always top-notch. It's the next best thing to attending a Selected Shorts program in person.”Read full review »
