Stumbled upon this years ago looking for free audio books. Stayed for the great story telling, badass characters and the cliff hangers.

I've been listening to this podcast for years, and the stories keep getting better and better. The author manages to articulate alien world so well you can picture them while populating them with characters you feel like you already know. Well worth a listen and a subscription.

When we fire up a new podcast or start reading a new book, we all have the same wish: We want the story to be fabulous, the author to be sharp and inventive, and the content to be something new and inspiring. I can say - enthusiastically without reservation - that John Mierau fits all those...Read full review »

I just started listening to these stories and I love it. He does his mentors, Tee Morris, Scott Sigler and others, proud.

I have not heard all the different stories on Serving Worlds, but I wish John would continue on with Asunder and a sequel to Enemy Lines would be great too! Please keep up the good work!

Enemy Lines shows us a world of the future but one that is still recognizable to modern eyes. While new challenges exist for humanity, familiar themes remain almost as cautionary tales: shadowy government agencies, unscrupulous corporations, and mankind's ongoing thirst for knowledge and...Read full review »

I enjoy John's work and although I have many of his books on Kindle, I prefer his vocal delivery. With a long commute I listen to lot of podcasts or audio dramas and John is an author who always skips to the front of the queue when a new peice is out. Enemy Lines is a well told story with an...Read full review »

These 4 episodes are a wonderful novella. Total running time is around 90 minutes. It is better than a lot of the movies I've seen lately. I had no idea what this story was about before I started listening. It took me a minute to wrap my brain around these characters. And, wow! What a great...Read full review »

Terrific series - thought provoking, intelligent, unique and interesting perspectives, lots of action with unexpected twists. Also a great sense of wry humour. I look forward to more works from John Mierau. Add this author to the top of your list. His work is finely crafted - there is no...Read full review »

I am really enjoying all the angles that the story explores and well voiced. Been enjoying the interviews also, lots of kandid moments with podcasting authors that I also listen to.

Enemy Lines is one of the best listens out there. Highly recommended.

Love the idea, but I'd LIKE to see MORE attention to LEVELS. The mechanics of producing a podcast may be getting simpler, but that doesn't mean that there's no room for an audio engineer, at all. I can't listen to this without my thumb on the volume control, which really limits my enjoyment.

I've never really been into short stories, they either fall into trouble with the endings, you can't warm up to the characters or the author tries to go for something they just can't fit into the short story format. None of these problems happen with Serving Worlds. John worked the...Read full review »

John Mierau is on the 'short list' of excellent podcasters. Great stuff. Really enjoying the story, and it is very skillfully read by the author.

This is a great episodic audiobook with some layered storytelling. It even improves with multiple listenings. It's well worth the time to hear this one.

Enemy Lines is good listening. If you're a fan of Scott Sigler you'll Like Enemy Lines. John Mierau has written a fast moving, fun story and has a great voice for narration. Really good stuff.

Not the best I've listened to, but certainly very entertaining, well written and performed. Some unique stories with a twist. Well worth spending some spare time listening to, especially as they're short episodes. Give it a try, you may find you enjoy it!
