“I'm a long-time Lainey Gossip reader so this seemed like something right up my lane. I've listened to the first ten or so episodes and so far, I do enjoy listening to Lainey and Duana discuss Hollywood gossip from a smart, feminist angle, especially focusing on the work aspect of Hollywood. Sometimes their analysis borders on esoteric. At one point Duana even catches on to the fact that their endless speculation on whether or not Lady Gaga would do something political at the Super Bowl was reaching epic proportions.
My only complaint is that sometimes Lainey borders on shrill in my ear when trying to make her point (while Duana keeps her cool, calm tone), and that I wish they would record the podcast AFTER a big event (like the Golden Globes or Super Bowl mentioned) instead of before since the audience listening has the benefit of knowing what actually happened by the time they listen to the podcast. It makes their discussion and theorizing a bit moot.
Overall a good podcast that will likely get better as the two improve their work.”Read full review »
