I really enjoy this - in particular as someone living in London who is interested in urbanism. Sounds like Jonn is leaving it though which will be a shame.

Great to hear from a journalist who's interested in the same things I am. Always interesting, thoughtful and funny with it. Really enjoyed the recent one about my adopted home town, the great Newcatle upon Tyne. Nice one Jonn!Read full review »

Excellent podcast on urban themes, with a lot for train nerds (obviously by far the most civilized mode of transport).

Jonn Elledge once described the platonic ideal of the podcast as him apologising for the poor sound quality of an interview, but the interviews tend to be so interesting that it doesn't really matter. Well worth your time.Read full review »

Get enthused by cities, more depressed by Brexit.

Interesting stuff on cities and John Elledge’s Twitter beefs

I started listening to this podcast a year ago, around the time when I moved to London. Since then this podcast has provided me with never-ending facts to impressively regurgitate in conversation, intensified my desire to live in cities for the rest of my life and inexplicably made me a massive...Read full review »

I look forward to listening to Skylines every week, and am digging into the back catalogue now. I find the deep dives into urbanism, politics, and policy to be very interesting and I always learn something new. Plus, I'm a dork for public transport. And I love how genuinely funny the...Read full review »

Skylines is very insightful and interesting, bringing together thoughtful ideas on public policy and transit, with an array of guests who help flesh out the larger picture of how transit fits into our daily life and the political landscape. As an expat, it's terrific for me to keep informed...Read full review »

Really interesting podcast, in general the show is quite UK/London centric but does get quite a few guests on from other parts of the world. knowledge of hosts and guests is very good although I miss when John had a co-host. The best episode so far has been about the legacy of the Olympics in...Read full review »

It's been almost 30 episodes since my first review (Oct 20, 2016) and I'm happy to report the audio quality that plagued early episodes has improved greatly. The content in general has remained about the same - recommend for those interested in transit, public policy, urbanism, the...Read full review »

One of very few British podcasts that covers urbanism; good concept, good episode themes, so I keep listening in hope that it will improve. I wish there was more factual information and less extemporising. Liked the discussions about the metro mayors, and the Chicago one. But a lot of episodes...Read full review »

Consistently interesting and entertaining. The presenters' and guests' enthusiasm and knowledge makes even the most obscure detail of city life accessible and fascinating. Makes you look at a city through new eyes.Read full review »

A podcast about cities may not sound exciting but this podcast is consistently facinating. Yes it is about cities but it is also about perception, transport, identity and anything else that comes up. Always interesting and entertaining, really worth your time.

Been a fan for a while of the citymetric website and decided to venture onto their podcast. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Very interesting on a host of issues around cities/urban living. if you are in any way interested in cities, this is for you!

It might look wonkish to the casual browser, but this podcast always finds fascinating ways of approaching its chosen subject. Entertaining, thoughtful and a credit to its creators.

If you are fascinated by the paradoxes of urban living then this is a really imformative & entertaining podcast. OK so it's bit Londoncentric but well informed guests offer excellent reports from other cities around the globe. Overall the show helps makes sense of city living Thanks youRead full review »

This is a really great podcast full of fascinating city stories. Kudos to charmingly geeky presenter John and (less geeky) Barbara for finding some real gems (who knew public transport in Lagos was so interesting?). Also - there’s a map of the week feature. What’s not to love?

Fascinating podcast that tells me more about cities than I thought I needed to know. Makes maps interesting - quite an achievement in itself...

I enjoy the mix of geeky stuff about cities (ie maps) with anecdote and political geekery. I particularly like the items on other cities outside of London (such as the recent one on the challenges of navigating Toronto) as it shows how cities across the globe have common issues.

A must listen for those interested in a critical, radical perspective on the future of urbanism and progressive social geography. An excellent addition to the New Statesman family.

Glad to have a good urbanism podcast. Their view is sometimes a bit unrefined (like the painful discussion of US-New York political animosity), but that as often as not seems to be the guests' doing as the hosts. The hosts do a good job steering discussion and engaging listeners in topics you...Read full review »

It’s good because you can listen to the voices and it is like having friends except they ignore you when you talk to them so it is pretty much like having friends. They talked about cities and also metrics.
