Nice Try
I was very excited to see a new show in the tradition of TAL, RadioLab, Wire Tap. etc etc. I gave the first episode a listen and was really dissapointed. The flow of the show is choppy at best, the host repeats himself so often I began to tune him out and his talking style is forced and faux. He sounds like an academic trying to talk street. Reminds me of when high school teachers try to use slang to relate to their students. The stories seemed to all revolve around the "snap judgment" concept but seem to fail to interject emotion, trials, and the true narrative nature of such decisions. The music addition is amateur and shows immediate musical knowledge. If we are suppose to be being exposed to something new then your music director needs to get beyond the first pandora suggestions. The "kick it DJ" thing needs to go too. I think the show could suceed but it needs to work on pacing, spend a little more time developing the host's persona, diversify the story themes, and work on the music.I wanted this to be good but Im certain I will not listen again and I wouldnt recommend it to my friends.Read full review »

Stories are good but the host is kinda annoying. Let people tell their stories. They don't need embellishment if they are good; they'll stand on their own.Read full review »

Funny, sad, strange stories told with fun editing. I always look forward to a new episode and am never disappointed.
