Multi-layered
I don't connect with all of the songs but the personal stories of those who do are always compelling. Always sad, always uplifting, the title of the show describes perfectly the concept of how we associate music with emotions based around life events and experiences. My own favourite was Mr Blue Sky. I heard that one over a year ago and I still feel invested in each story. There are a lot of bad people in the world but this show is validation that there are many, many more amazing, lovely, caring people. A mention for the experts who deconstruct the songs. Even for the ones I don't especially like, it's hard not to be impressed by the songwriter's talent. And Jeff Lynne is a genius.Read full review »
