Typical Stuffy Critics...
I thought I was a big music fan, fairly critical, and had a pretty wide ranging knowledge of music until listening to this show. It didn't open my eyes to this world of music I never knew about that I wanted to learn more about though; instead, it taught me that there are a lot of mediocre bands I haven't heard of that critics love for some reason while they turn their noses up in the air over the bands that are good that I have heard of. It also seems like in the handful of episodes I have heard that there is some caller correcting them on a fact they got wrong nearly every episode. Maybe their format is pretty loose, but since this is their livelihood I expect them to know their facts. My other issue not related to the show itself necessarily is that only a handful of the podcasts are available to listen to so I can't go into the back log to see if there are subjects I would like to listen to. All in all, I was underwhelmed by the podcast and couldn't get myself to like it so I unsubscribed, and I don't think I'll be coming back to it.Read full review »

I loved the show with Buddy Guy. He is one of the most important guitarists in blues history. Not only helping to pave the way for the stratocaster to become a serious force in the blues, but he has also helped keep the blues alive. Thank You Buddy

Jim and Greg review new releases, do album "dissections", and even have a segment...Read full review »

It's just a couple of guys from Chicago talking about music (mostly contemporary); sounds simple enough, but there really isn't a show like this anywhere else. Sound Opinions is serious about music, but has an appreciative, lighthearted feel to it. The two guys (Jim & Greg) are...Read full review »
