I love this podcast! The inclusion of music alleviates the focus on purely the visual which could get oppressive. An interesting take. All of the stories and personal histories are wonderful to hear and are inspiring. Occasionally the host’s view towards Christianity gets a bit bitter but he’s...Read full review »

This is without a doubt my favorite contemporary art podcast. I feel like I’m in the same room as Brian & the artists he interviews. Conversations wander in many directions but always include educational influences, stories of growing up & dealing with issues that helped & hindered...Read full review »

I love learning about how different artists made it work. Brian Alfred gets smart, talented artists on this pod and asks good questions. Fun, informative, and makes creative people feel at home. Perfect for studio listening!! Check it out!

Please stop talking so much about yourself, you have very good guests that are compelling but it’s such a drag that 50% of this is you selling your personal journey. Could be very good.

A lot of art pods annoy me because the hosts have next to no points they get to; just conversing about random stuff and tangents as if the listener should be clued in (not there to learn practice and process) This one does not do the above so that’s good. The hosts voice is too calm though lol....Read full review »

Thoughtful and meaningful connections between art, music, process, and environment. Brian Alfred gets at the humanity behind the work, inviting the listener into a living-room type of conversation where the dialogue feels tangibly accessible.

Brian is a patient and kind interviewer, and I love hearing about the artists’ history, process, and experiences unrelated to art. The conversations are never forced. But I always have to drop what Im doing to pour over images of each guest’s work in the middle of the episode!

Love this podcast, which really got me through the darkest days of the pandemic, when I worked away in my home studio. Love the interviews and the artist insights, and I have recommended it to all of my other artist friends.

This podcast is wonderful. Brian’s taste is impeccable. But... I feel Brian interrupts womxn more than men, and he interjects his opinions on womxn’s experiences in a way that is just exhausting. Wonderful choice of artists. I so wish the conversations would focus on the artist and their work. There’s a LOT of uninteresting small talk and way too much of the host. With one I listened to recently, we were 55 minutes in before the conversation turned to the artist’s work! Agony. These could...Read full review »

Best artist process podcast out. Deft not to nerdy and over tech like a lot. The intro beat and song though could be much better .

I am always excited when this podcast comes out. It’s my favorite part of my morning ritual, to learn from other artists while I work in my studio. Thanks Brian for the work you do in bringing artists stories to the world. Grateful for this podcast.

Great conversation about art fairs and the decentralization of the art market as well as the importance of books along side new media. If an age of how the newest technological overtake the previous this descussion shows the importance of keeping old media alive.

Listened to Guy Yanai and Robin Williams (again) on the way home from Pittsburgh. IT's really great getting to hear about the common issues each artist faces. I really related to Robin William's problem of having too many tools and not always knowing which ones to use.Read full review »
