Best interviewer, Best content, One of the Best Productions ! ! !
I can't believe I've never heard of Tami Simon, as she has turned out to be probably the best podcast/radio interviewer I have ever encountered. Her speech and diction are excellent and she has a pleasant timbre that I was unsure about at first, but after listening to all the "catch-up" interviews I can now see that her voice is pleasant and non-fatiguing to the ear. But she really shines in her interviewing pace and her selective questions. She seems to be able find the question just beyond the obvious so that, as a listener, I start thinking in a direction I hadn't even considered until she asked the question. I love that she resists throwing in one-liners, as many interviewers feel compelled to do. I'm talking about the kind of one-liners that are so obvious that one should not even acknowledge them and which interrupt the flow of a conversation. I just heard one recently where the guest was kind of inviting Tami to throw in her comment but she refrained, as she often does, from saying something pointless simply in order to fill space or to hear her own voice. She only speaks when she has a purpose and really allows the guest to get into a rhythm. I can't say enough good things about this podcast and about Tami. The topics are very interesting. Even regarding the topics in which I am less interested, Tami seems to point out a few aspects that are actually quite intriguing. I've been listening to all the old interviews non-stop ever since I encountered this podcast.Read full review »
