Oasis of cultural spontaneity
What is engaging in StW is the level of spontaneity that permeates the interviews. And from this perspective, it is much better than (the TV show) Newsnight's review. With Marr are the real people taht have done this and that, while in many other cultural programs on the (UK) radio, the pundits and the critics have a go, sometimes right or sometimes wrong, but most of the times setting themeselves up as THE focus - and the work discussed becomes just a target of their focus. Marr has the capacity to infuriate and inspire, not quite in equal measure; a kind of smug self-righteous certainty and lack of reflective qualities combined with accurate non-PC qualities we need on the radio... my drive to work is better off for it though! Damn him!
