Every episode is both scientifically enlightening and completely frustrating. Dr Tyson completely ignores non-Western methodology and speaks in superlatives constantly. Thus every episode is filled with words like Always, Never, Can’t, etc while ignoring exceptions or even non-American ways of thinking about it. Latest Example: the Free Will episode spent over 30 minutes never defining Free Will as anything other than the Easter Bunny. NDGT just wanted affirmation of his own biases and his forgettable guest constantly confuses Determinism with Free Will. Later, Quantum Uncertainty is immediately dismissed because there were 20+ orders of magnitude necessary for a Quantum random flux to affect a single molecule while completely ignoring the near-statistical certainty that with as many atoms being involved and outside forces, there would be a Gordian Knot of random quantum dings. Religion, Theology, and anything Woo is mocked relentlessly by NDGT each episode and poor Lord Nice has to play along even though it’s obvious he’s far more spiritual than he lets on, yet NDGTs ego and overtalk nips any useful contribution Chuck could make as being a clown car. It is very much a shame. This used to be my favorite show and Dr Tyson and Chuck Nice are to be lauded for bringing science to the masses in a fun way, but it’s like being a parent and listening to non-parents explain child-rearing. It’s amusing, occasionally very accurate in theory and on paper, but completely ignores the state of flux that exists between observer and observed.

It seems like every time Tyson is about to add in some kind of really explanation of something, though, Koplitz jumps in with...Read full review »

Great science combined with comedy and presented in a laid back relaxed manner. It really makes science come to life and does a great job in explaining how science impacts nearly everything in our daily lives. Keep up the great work Neil!
