Brian’s struggle to understand Nate’s metaphors is one of the highlights of this show. Never fails to make my day.

I have been enjoying this podcast for years now - the love of God and biblical knowledge and application of that knowledge has helped me grow in my own faith. I love it ❤️

I go to Logos and I greatly appreciate this podcast. It’s super helpful for worldview, writing and looking at Gods world in general. No hate for this podcast. It helps me deal with things going on in life and when something hard hits Nate taught me to laugh. Thank you both so much for this.

Nate is really obnoxious but also one of the most interesting people on earth (and he’s probably fine with that). If you want to see my impression of him, here goes: “X Like… X” That’s it. A grown man and successful author should not be so reliant on the word “like.” Also, saying “sasf”...Read full review »

Nate and Brian have some unique ideas. It’s worthwhile to listen even (especially?) for a young homeschool mom with lots of tiny people and no time to write. This podcast will inspire the way you think about your home library and what soul food you are serving your family. Also. I can't look...Read full review »

This podcast has renewed my love for stories. It has changed the way I look at many things, including helping me comprehend the impact stories (of all forms) can have on a person. The perspective shifts I have been blessed with have helped me to take a step towards being more Christ-like. In...Read full review »

Their insight has helped me think of stories in ways I have never thought before, which I am thankful for. This podcast has made me appreciate stories and learn how to read stories with a Christian worldview. Although they can be too contrarian, in my opinion. Like contrarian for the sake of...Read full review »

I’ve listened to every single episode, and have not finished less than 5. Very good insights and refreshing for men to have strong opinions and convictions. Thank you.

I am SO grateful for this podcast. It has helped me grow in getting the gospel to function in my media intake and how I look at my life and my family’s as a story written by a very much in control Father. I have seen wonderful effects as my husband and I discuss subjects brought up on the...Read full review »

I started the first episode this afternoon—five episodes later and I know I’ll be blazing through them all in no time. I feel like a sponge soaking in all of the book wisdom to elevate and nourish the hobbies I love most, reading and writing.

A friend recommended this podcast to me in March, and I just listened to an episode for the first time yesterday. I’m only halfway through my second episode (ep. 109 — “you have bad taste”), but I had to pause and write this review because I am crying tears of thankfulness to God. I have had lots...Read full review »

My wife is a big fan of the “What have you” podcast for many reasons, one of which being the way that great parenting and Christian living advice just sort of “flows out” alongside their conversations because of the way the hosts faithfully live out their lives. As a Christian father and husband,...Read full review »

There are only a couple of podcasts that I eagerly await each week and this is one of them. It just kind of goes where it goes as far as the discussion. 5 stars.

This show has some good advice, if you can make it past the rambling. The hosts are funny, if a bit arrogant. It was not the show for me, but it could be useful to others.

As someone who was “taught” character and story by academy award winners and best selling authors, I can say I’ve learned far more listening to this podcast. It’s not enough to know how to do something, but why you should do something. Working in LA, I’ve learned “how” to create stories (mostly...Read full review »

I’ve enjoyed listening to the podcast. The hosts are bright, engaging, and thoughtful. The episode where they explain story architecture has changed they way that I consume media; that being a good thing. Thank you for your efforts gentlemen, they are much appreciated. Cheers!

I listened to your podcast on Moses as a wizard, and am blown away at what you said. Moses was not a wizard, and miracle is a work of God and magic is a supernatural action from a source other then God, the devil or demonic. Thank you guys for this podcast. I have benefited greatly from it, especially as a father. I do have a question for Nate. What happened to the Great Divorce film? Will it ever happen? How do you plan on adapting the story into a film?

STORIES ARE CERTAINLY SOUL FOOD!!! I love this podcast! I went to a Bible study a while back and one of my friends had a problem with the study referring to someone from the Bible as a character. One star off for Nate’s insufferable condescension, you may think it’s endearing. It crosses the line too much. Otherwise, super great stuff, taken with a grain of salt with some issues (i.e. Calvinists will forever be terrible with the problem of evil)

I am a young writer, and I really enjoy the comments and insights from these two men on writing and reading, but it’s very hard to get past Nate’s condescending attitude. His tone is noticeably pompous…I mean, comparing himself to Lewis??
