There’s good, there’s great, and then there’s Curse of Politics!
I am not a wise man, but a man who is, once said that a key to life is discovering that everyone is wrong about other countries. I wanted to be a little less wrong. So, as a result of this, I can proudly say that I am the Curse of Politics' number one Northern Irish fan. I took an interest in Canadian politics around the time of the 2019 election, so when another election came around in 2021, I had to find a podcast that would keep me well informed.; and boy, did I find one. David Hurle's wisdom and hosting skills, Scott Reid's banter and communications insight and Jenni Byrne's ideological counterbalance guided me through the election while keeping me entertained. When Jenni left, I wasn't sure if they would bring on a rotating set of guests -- I'm not sure how well this always works on different podcasts -- but subbing in Christy Clark (who provides real executive experience and a sense of 'been there, done that expertise') has been a stroke of genius. Truly one of the best political podcasts out there; even if you aren't a weirdo obsessed with Canadian politics from across the Atlantic, Scott's coms takes alone are worth tuning in for and will make you feel smarter each week. I would give this podcast as many stars as possible; sadly, I am limited to five. As we say in Belfast, it's a belter. Yours sincerely, A happily miserable accursed.Read full review »

More reviews of Curse of Politics
I loved listening to you guys but stopped as Jenni Byrne’s type of conservatism went beyond my acceptable range of political behaviour. I am writing this just because Scott begged for more reviews so decided to write my first one. Since I enjoy listening to him so much, this is the least I can do.

I enjoy the the personalities and opinions on the The Curse of Politics but I think they represent only a slice of the political spectrum. Basically liberal voices. When Jennie comes back that will provide a voice from the right but the podcast also needs a consistent voice from left of the...Read full review »
