“I fell in absolute LOVE with Leanne’s comedy a few months back (sending words of affirmation your way because I adore you and your yummy comedy--AND you were a fellow YUMMY dachshund owner, so you're just as good as family!!). Then discovered this podcast! I’m so THANKFUL for BOTH of you ladies. I have started at episode 1 and working my way through (I'm on 10 and going strong!).
I need Karen's words of medical wisdom and Leanne's encouragement! I’m sure you’ve probably already covered it but if you can, please throw out some nuggets of truth and wisdom for people that might have a scenario similar to mine. I'm 47 years old. I think that I totally skipped perimenopause and jumped straight to menopause with a total LAVH back in 2015. I had never been able to have babies. We had tried everything, but we were just not able to. So, I have a major caveat to my request for more info. I had a Roux-en-Y back in 2010 and lost over 100 pounds and just loved life and my new body. PCOS had utterly destroyed my body and the bariatric surgery was just my only hope. Hideous years with endometriosis on top of the PCOS lead to the early LAVH. Now I’m finding that I’ve gained some of my weight back…certainly not all….about 35 pounds and it has me worried. I'm on .1 Vivelle Dot. As well, I was diagnosed with RA in the last 2 years. I take 200mg of Plaquenil b.i.d. Those are the only two meds that I take., I have an allergy to NSAIDs that causes a fixed drug eruption, so I can't take them. Karen can you please send some helpful info for that scenario? I’m sure there are plenty of other listening that might be bariatric patients and are malabsorptive, as well as RA patients.
Love you both….keep it up ladies! You will never know how much you are appreciated (see Leanne—more words of affirmation—Love Dr. Gary Chapman!). And Leanne-your accent makes you “home folk” for me. It’s beautiful, you’re beautiful (because the Lord made you in HIS image) and you should never be discouraged by anyone who has something to say about it. We have rich southern heritage and should never be apologetic for it!
