Heard Mr. JW, very much loved the funny story he told. I think I've heard of another story that lead me to this podcast and finally decided to get subscribed. Looking forward listening to more engaging stories of the like.

Had the chance to perform on the show. It was a real pleasure. I was most impressed with the other authors/performers and honored to share the stage with them. A great show that is rightfully growing in popularity.

This podcast is charming and the stories are great. It is true that some sound like they are reading and it sounds like an uneducated stereotype forced and fumbled. Miss Paula talks way to much. The guitar player and the guitar itself don't need introduction. Is Miss Paula a man or woman? Maybe a...Read full review »

I've just found out about this show and was blown away. What a wonderful collection of stories and storytellers. It's a unique voice among storytelling shows and the combination of music and tales keeps me coming back for more and more. Perfect for the long road trips I take or just sitting on...Read full review »

Southern storytelling is a tradition and an art. Tales From The South allows our best to share their best with the world and for that I am grateful.

This is by far the best radio show I have ever listened to! The storytellers are fantastic and captivating! If you haven't tuned in yet, you don't know what you're missing!

I love this show. Listening to others life lesson thru storytelling. Told by the author. I laugh, cry, relate, and learn each week.

I wanted to like this podcast but it's obvious that these storytellers are reading. By doing so they rob their material of crucial spontaneity. If they mixed it up a bit the content would be more engaging to me.

It's a nice idea ala The Moth, but from Southerners perspectives. The stories are often interesting and the writing engaging. However, the readers are horrible. I liken it to listening to elementary school kids reading their "What I did last Summer" essays up in front of the class. Same goes for...Read full review »

I look forward to my weekly dose of Tales From The South like a visit from an old friend. The true southern stories vary from the pulling-of-the-heartstrings to hilarious.

Originating from North Little Rock's historic district Tales From The South showcases the art of the story from the people who experienced them . This show is so genuine .... It brings up memories for some and enlightens listeners elsewhere. Thank you Ms Morell for creating this venue !!!

I love to hear these southern stories "told by the people who lived them". Always entertaining and listening to them on the radio provides a touch of nostalgia. I wish modern radio provided more oppurtunities to listen to storytelling of this caliber.
Thomas_53 via · 12/31/13
Love this show!  Better than any tv "reality show," this is real people telling real stories. Some are hilarious, some poignant, but it always entertains.

Tales from the South is an amazing show that focuses on stories & tales that draw you in & you don't want to end.

Storyteller voices are always authentic, guaranteed to carry you along for a unique ride. If you're Southern, you recognize the surroundings but love each surprise. If you're not Southern, you'll be charmed by the tales' trips.

Each show unique, each story unique. Not cookie-cutter or stereotypical in any way.

The best food in town is at Starving Artist Cafe and the live storytelling is ALWAYS so entertaining!

Saw/heard the show live, and catch the radio broadcasts when I can. Storrytelling at its finest.

Totally different every week. The stories are generally very funny and diverse. They also introduce a small and and music that is (probably) on a corresponding site.
Megrockstar via · 12/24/13
southern stories, the best ones, always feel a little familiar. the characters feel like people we know. "Tales..." always accomplishes that ring of truth that you just know when you hear it.  great show!
monsignormank via · 09/27/13
Always a great listen. They do this every week, and the live show is off the charts.

I really enjoy keeping up with the stories that are told and talent that goes into the stories. Some stories could be a little cleaner but on the whole and very quality storytelling project. I have listened to every podcast for the last nine months. I really enjoy them and look forward to the...Read full review »
