It’s such a shame they put this podcast behind a paywall as I really liked it. It’s a sensible view on topical issues which was good to hear. I’m absolutely not going to pay £4 a month for one podcast though. Purely out of principle more than anything. Too many subscription models these days and...Read full review »

Listened to this cracking podcast every week but alas all good things come to an end with a charge now in place .. loved listening to These two guys .. too bad

I was an avid weekly fan of the BBC Scotland media review, so disappointed when it was axed. I discovered this podcast a few weeks ago. Great listen. Entertaining, informative and humorous. I find Radio Scotland news so disappointing now: viewers views; who cares, not me. Perhaps a guest from...Read full review »

This is an interesting series of podcasts and the format is effective. However, the views expressed are predominantly nationalist views and this is very clear in every episode I have listened to. Each guest seems to be a nationalist pal who just re- enforces the hosts bias. In terms of the hosts...Read full review »

If I agreed with everything and everyone on this pod it would be an utter waste of a listen, intelligent high & occasionally low brow real good listen, I’m embarrassed that I haven’t already fully subscribed to support this ‘island of unsweetened media reporting’ a wee gem. I will do this...Read full review »

Such a good idea to do these extras. Subject matter is fascinating and well worth hearing. It’s outside the format of ‘current media events’ but what a crime it would be to deny these stories (like who really shot Michael Collins) to the world. As always the team offer real insights - like...Read full review »

Great media insight every week with top guests. Nice one

On the Rangers episode Eamonn O’Neill told us that the 10-15k Rangers support in George Square ‘Attacked the police en masse’. This is a complete fabrication that he then doubled down on after being called out for it on Twitter. The real figures will likely be as low as 200. Cosgrove allowed...Read full review »

One of the best this week with Joyce McMillan to accompany my Thursday dog walk. Articulate and honest journalism. Sadly lacking in mainstream media.

Can’t promote this podcast enough Topical analysis at its best. Great guest commentators providing additional perspectives. The recommendations at the end of the podcast are real gems giving us either further insight or entertainment Keep it coming Big Light

Brilliantly informative. Fantastic analysis every week from Stuart and Eamon with a great selection of guests who compliment the debate. One of the best podcasts out there for informed, analytical, sensible debate. Love Eamon’s take on all things America. A podcast which really get syou...Read full review »

Stuart and Eamon cut through the noise of the current affairs of the day in an informed and analytical way that makes this podcast compulsive listening. The weekly guest complements their dynamic and there is alway lively, thought provoking debate. A joy to listen to and a highlight of my week.

Great podcast for anyone who is interested in the media and how it reports current affairs.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so angered by a commentary as I was when the topic of the SQA results was opened. Such ignorance of how the SQA works. Such ill -informed cynicism, to suggest that the pandemic was used as a cover for “incompetence”. Had the commentary been any more slanted, it would...Read full review »

I always enjoy this podcast although I would prefer some guest contributors who do not share the same general perspective as Stuart and Eamonn. It must be possible to invite a right-leaning/non Scottish nationalist guest on the podcast occasionally to challenge rather than agree with their views.

If you feel frustrated by journalists who repeat PR lines, rather than analyse & discuss merits & demerits of a story, this is the show for you. Interesting; informative, entertaining. BBC Radio Scotland should have given them an hour, instead of taking it off air. Great stuff.

Excellent first episode- would prefer Stuart’s views rather than him being anchorman - like Taylor’s in put too - fresh voice. Eammons comments as interesting and thought provoking as ever. So glad this format has been saved. Like the recommendations addition and the theme tune! Thanks Janice and...Read full review »

Hi folks great show as always. I know it would be a huge undertaking to go twice a week but with so much going on right now, please consider

I look forward to the weekly discussion. It’s so refreshing to hear views from outwith the usual suspects. The guests add something fresh each week & I do enjoy the recommendations. Keep up the good work loons & quines.

I’d highly recommend this podcast. It’s thoughtful, non partisan and nuanced with a no holds barred approach to analysis of what’s happening across the media and in the wider world.

Grown up chat about the media for grown ups. BBC Radio Scotland screwed up by letting these guys go, but on the face of it, honest straight forward debate and comment seem to be beyond the BBC’s remit these days. Love it.

A promising start but a podcast that has quickly gone off the boil. A media pundit that doesn’t know where the Titanic story originated? A supposed fair-minded commentator making borderline racist comments about the ethnicity of someone? This is far less than was promised at launch - petty and...Read full review »

An excellent media an cultural review show based in and from a Scottish viewpoint. Definitely not twee or parochial it embraces the world we we live in both domestic and international with a Scottish sensibility. This is what a grown up Scotland should be like. First class.

I always miss the news roundup by them on the beeb and this format hopefully gives them a freer reign. Hopefully Marianne is a regular as S&E like a good yap so nice to have balance with an experienced journalist who knows our part of the world

Absolutely delighted that Stuart and Eamonn are now doing their own show without the constraints of the BBC. This show is a definite upgrade with more time and space to forensically break down the week of media.

I’m so glad the team are continuing their media talk in this format - I’ve subscribed and look forward to supporting, listening to and sharing future content.
